How to choose equipment for a packaging line
Define the product and package first
Record the smallest and largest product dimensions, carton or pallet weight and load stability. Check suitability for both current products and planned changes. A real product and packaging sample helps the supplier assess the application more reliably than a photograph alone.
Assess the full flow
Infeed, outfeed, operator access, conveyor height and load transfers all affect selection. Describe the shift pattern, packaging variety and changeover frequency alongside target capacity. Film, strap and tape should be evaluated together with the equipment.
Compare the quotation scope
Check machine configuration, utilities, site preparation, transport, commissioning, training and service separately. Request warranty and delivery terms in writing. Where a particular output or saving is expected, agree acceptance criteria around tests using the actual product.
